have here figures which I have extracted from the cash book ( which
I can produce to the Commission but which I cannot leave with them
because it is in use), with reference to Mr. Pudney's answer in the
last hearing; which show that over a certain period in February and
March the total daily turnover of cash averaged $24,215. It must be
remembered of course that on the day after a Sunday or after a
public holiday it is considerably greater.
Amounts taken by Assistant Immigration Officers on board ships:
